A Personal Note From The Pastor
As pastor of Friendship Baptist Church and on
behalf of our church Family, "Thank You" for visiting our website. If you have
not been to one of our services, we want to invite you to come join us. If you
have already visited with us, please come again and worship with us.
Friendship Baptist Church is a small church with a big heart for the community.
As many places in this area, we "are set upon a hill." We believe that we need
to be a light in the community, a light which is not afraid to shine and spread
the light of God's Word.
Scripture says that a city upon a hill "cannot be hid." We have no desire to be
hid. We want others to know that Friendship Baptist Church is a church that
cares for its community.
We are an independent, fundamental baptist church, that cares enough about
others that we do not dilute the Word of God, we do not preach only certain
topics, we do not reach out to only certain groups. We preach the whole counsel
of God. We believe Jesus Christ died for everyone.
Our mission is threefold. First, we want to share the Gospel with as many people
as we can. It is God's will than none should perish, but that all should be
saved. His will is our desire. We want to reach the lost in our community for
Christ.
Second, we want to teach the believer; help him mature in the Christian life.
Just as a new born baby needs to grow, to learn to walk, to grow up and to have
his own family, so must the Christian. At Friendship Baptist Church, we want to
see the new Christian grow in his faith so that God is the center of his life.
That should be the desire of every Christian and with God's help we will teach
and preach the whole council of God so that every Christian may live to his
fullest the will of God for his life.
Our third goal is to send these mature Christians to accomplish and do the same
wherever God may send them. Whether that is in Woodlawn, Virginia at Friendship
Baptist Church or in Venezula, or in Costa Rica, or South Africa; wherever God's
leads them we want them to follow.
We may be small in number at this point, but with God's grace we will grow to be
all that He would have us.
Come and visit with us. We want to get to know our neighbors. Come and be our
honored guest.
